We always want to be on the safe side. That's why this release focuses on a security update in one of our third-party libraries. On top of that, we've added support for macOS Monterey and fixed a small but noticeable bug.
The Content Analyzer 2.6 requires the following:
-
Acrolinx Platform version 2020.11 or later
-
Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
-
macOS 10.15 (Catalina), macOS 11 (Big Sur), macOS 12 (Monterey)
-
Linux Ubuntu 20.04
We've dropped support for the following Content Analyzer 2019 versions:
-
2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3
The previous Content Analyzer came with the Chrome version M96. Since then, a few security issues were found in the Electron Runtime Library. We've upgraded the library to the latest version, which comes with Chrome version M98 and security fixes.
Additional macOS SupportGood news for Mac users! We've added support for macOS Monterey.
When you selected all files for checking, the heading would immediately show "X files selected. X files successful.” Although the Content Analyzer is fast, it's not fast enough to check all files before you even start a check. The display now correctly shows how many files you've selected and how many Acrolinx checked successfully.
Privacy is key, and this Content Analyzer comes with a new feature to enable just that. In addition, we've updated our libraries and dependencies, some of which had some security issues.
We also made a bold move and gave the Content Analyzer a new name. Just kidding, it's not really new.
We recommend that you use:
-
Acrolinx Platform version 2020.11 or later
We've updated our operating system support with this release. We now support:
-
Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
-
macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and macOS 11 (Big Sur)
-
Linux Ubuntu 20.04
Content Analyzer 2019 sounded a bit...well, like 2019. Since less is more in 2021, we've changed the name back to the original: Content Analyzer!
Make sure you uninstall Content Analyzer 2019 before you install the latest release.
Use MIP Labels with Content AnalyzerWe already introduced MIP label recognition with Acrolinx Office on Windows 1.5. If you liked it, then you’re going to love our Content Analyzer MIP feature.
If you protect your content with Microsoft sensitivity labels and want to check locally saved documents, we've got you covered. To exclude sensitive content from your Acrolinx checks, all you have to do is use the properties ACROLINX_MIP_PREVENTLABELS
and ACROLINX_MIP_PREVENTEMPTYLABELS
. These properties are easy to specify when you install the Content Analyzer.
This MIP feature only works for the following file types:
-
Excel
-
PowerPoint
-
Word
