You'll need Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) administrator rights to install Acrolinx for AEM.
To install Acrolinx for AEM, you'll need to upload and install the Acrolinx installation package in the Adobe CRX Package Manager.
To upload and install Acrolinx for AEM on-premise, do the following:

Download the latest version of the Acrolinx for AEM .zip file from your company download area.

In AEM, go to Tools > CRXDE Lite to open CRXDE Lite.

Click Package to open the CRX Package Manager.

Click Upload Package. In the Upload Package dialog box, select the Acrolinx for AEM .zip file and click OK.

After the file has uploaded, click Install. When the installation is complete, you're ready to connect to Acrolinx.

If you're updating from an earlier version of Acrolinx for AEM, you'll need to remove any previous versions before installing this version.
Tip
Planning to update AEM? You’ll need to uninstall Acrolinx first. Check out our Compatibility Guide before you reinstall Acrolinx to make sure it works with your new editor version. We usually adapt Acrolinx to match the latest version of AEM.
To update Acrolinx for AEM, do the following:

If you're updating from Acrolinx for AEM 1.6.1 or earlier, update your AEM Content Profile to include any components that you want to check. See the section Component Configuration in our AEM admin guide for details on how to do this.
We recommend that you create a backup of the following customization files just in case:

Download the latest version of the Acrolinx for AEM .zip file from your company download area. It'll be called
acrolinx-for-aem.ui.apps
. -
In AEM, go to Tools > CRXDE Lite to open CRXDE Lite.

Click Package to open the CRX Package Manager. Find any old versions of Acrolinx for AEM. Uninstall and delete them.

Clear the AEM client library cache:

Go to
https://<YOUR_AEM_SERVER>:<AEM_PORT>/libs/granite/ui/content/dumplibs.rebuild.html

Click Invalidate Caches.
Warning
This clears the cache of all AEM packages at the same time.

Clear your browser cache.
-
Click Upload Package. In the Upload Package dialog box, select the Acrolinx for AEM .zip file and click OK.

After the package has uploaded, click Reinstall. When the installation is complete, you're ready to connect to Acrolinx.
