This version of Acrolinx for Office on Windows comes with a couple of improvements that make it easier to check with the Sidebar. We've also fixed a bug that wasn't letting you accept suggested replacements.
Read on for more details!
We developed and tested this version of Acrolinx for Office on Windows with:

Microsoft Office versions 2019, 2021 and Office 365 (32-bit and 64-bit)
This version of Acrolinx for Office on Windows requires the following:

.NET Framework 4.7.2 or above
In previous versions of Acrolinx for Office on Windows, the Sidebar used Internet Explorer 11 components. This caused some hiccups when you tried to use the Sidebar without Internet Explorer 11. The good news is that we got rid of all Internet Explorer components. We now use Microsoft Edge Chromium to show our Sidebar, so you're back on track.
"Out of Memory" NotificationIf your Word application ever ran out of memory (think biiiig document checking), you had to dig through the log messages to find out what went wrong. To make this easier for you, we’ve introduced an "Out of Memory" message. You'll now get a notification in the Sidebar if Word runs out of memory.
Sometimes when you clicked on a suggested replacement, the suggestion didn't get applied to your content and the Sidebar card would disappear. We’ve fixed this. No more issues when you want to use the replacements Acrolinx suggests.
Warning
This is important if you're on Windows and use Acrolinx for Office on Windows. It doesn't apply to Windows 11.
If you aren't on Windows 11 and use Acrolinx for Office on Windows, you need to download and install WebView 2 from Microsoft. This is because we've updated the Sidebar to use Microsoft Edge Chromium instead of Internet Explorer.
You can download WebView 2 from the page WebView2 - Microsoft Edge Developer. Linux and macOS users don't need WebView 2.
Better safe than sorry! We support your secure workflows — in other words, this service release makes sure that the Sidebar loads in highly secure environments.

You can configure Windows to maintain memory integrity by allowing registered load assemblies. When you configure this, Windows compares the CLSID (class identifier) from the registry to the GUID attribute mentioned in the assembly before it loads the assembly into memory. But one of our assemblies was missing a GUID, so it didn't load. We've added the missing GUID so the check can establish memory integrity in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
