Take a look at our release notes to learn more about the development of Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Word.
We’re excited to bring you a new release of our Microsoft 365 Word integration.
We've changed the name of our integration to align with your editor. This release also comes with an easier way to sign in to the Acrolinx Sidebar for the first time.
Notice
To use this version of Microsoft 365 Word, you need Acrolinx Platform 2021.12.1 or later.
We recommend that you use:
-
Acrolinx Platform version 2021.12.1 or later
-
Microsoft 365 Word for Web and Microsoft Word Version 16.x
To avoid confusion, we've renamed Acrolinx for Office Online to Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Word. This aligns with recent changes from Microsoft.
Improved Platform URL FieldWhen you sign in to the Acrolinx Sidebar for the first time, you’ll see a sample Acrolinx Platform URL in the Acrolinx URL field. That way, you have a clear idea of how your Acrolinx URL should look.
If you’re still having issues, we’ve also added a direct link to Acrolinx Support to help you get signed in and using Acrolinx!
We're dropping by with a quick service release. This time, we've fixed a bug that caused your Sidebar cards to gray out.
We recommend that you use:
-
Acrolinx Platform 2020.02 or later
-
Microsoft 365 Word version 16.x
Good news! We’ve updated the start page that you land on when you access the Sidebar. Just a few small changes, but now it's more consistent across your integrations.
Sometimes when you clicked on a Sidebar card, it would gray out for no reason. This happened when an issue had more than 255 characters. No worries, we've fixed it. Your Sidebar cards now work as expected.
We recommend that you only use Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Word with documents that you create in Microsoft 365. If you create documents with the desktop edition of Word and upload them to OneDrive, Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Word might not read all of your content. This is because Microsoft 365 doesn't support all of the same features as the desktop edition of Word.
Track Changes Not SupportedIf you enable "Track Changes" in Microsoft 365, unwanted characters might get added to your document when you click on a Sidebar card. To avoid this, we recommend that you switch off "Track Changes" when you use Acrolinx.
Acrolinx Icon HiddenSometimes, when you upload a file to OneDrive, the Acrolinx add-in icon doesn't show up where you'd expect. You can solve this by manually inserting the Acrolinx for Office add-in to Microsoft 365. Read more about this under "Where's my Sidebar?" .
