Before you install, make sure you have the following:

You'll need administrator rights for your operating system to complete some of these steps.
To install Acrolinx for XMetaL, follow these steps:

Download the Acrolinx for XMetaL .msi file from your company download area, or get it from your Acrolinx administrator.

Close any open programs, including XMetaL Author.

Double-click the .msi file and follow the installer instructions.
To update Acrolinx for XMetaL, you don't have to remove the previous version of Acrolinx for XMetaL. Simply follow the standard installation procedure for the new version as described under "Install."

Planning to update to the latest version of XMetaL Author? You’ll need to uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL first.
To update Acrolinx for XMetaL, follow these steps:

Uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL.

Update your XMetaL Author application to the newest version.

Reinstall Acrolinx for XMetaL.
