Issue
In Salesforce Knowledge, Acrolinx checking features include:
- Sidebar
- Automated check on create and save
- Batch check
When a user creates a new article or updates and saves an existing article, then Acrolinx runs an automated check in the background. The user doesn't necessarily know that this happens.

Cause
Acrolinx for Salesforce Knowledge uses sign sign-on (SSO) for user authentication for all checking features. When any user initiates a Sidebar, automated, or batch check, Acrolinx will automatically create a user on the Acrolinx Platform. As a result, each named user consumes an Acrolinx named user license.
Acrolinx for Salesforce Knowledge offers more than authoring support with the Sidebar. The automated and batch checking features support content governance.
Most Sidebar integrations work on a named user license model. Acrolinx content governance solutions work on a words-under-governance license model, whereby named users are secondary to the priority of overseeing the content in a repository.
Resolution
Contact your CSM or sales representative to discuss a words-under-governance license model.
You can use permissions to limit which users have access to which features.
See the admin guide for more details.
