No matter what you say or write, your company should have its own unique voice. Clarity lets you decide the tone of voice for your business to make the right connection with your audience. After all, it’s not only what you say that matters, but how you say it.
Acrolinx comes with presets that meet a lot of content needs. These presets give you the freedom to choose the guidance you want so you don’t have to adjust each individual guideline. The Simple, Complex, and Average presets in Clarity let you decide how readable your content should be. Choose Average if you want to avoid difficult sentences, but know that your audience will understand more challenging content. Simple, on the other hand, will make sure that your content is clear and straightforward. You might save Complex for an audience that can comprehend sophisticated language and structures.
To select a preset, follow these steps:
-
Navigate to Targets in your Acrolinx Dashboard.
-
Hover over the Target you’d like to edit and click the Target name.
-
Click on the goal Clarity to expand it.
-
Select the preset Simple, Complex, or Average from the dropdown.
You can of course make changes to the individual guidelines to create custom presets. Learn more in Fine-tune your Goals.
Warning
Careful, you can only create one custom preset for each goal within a Target.
When you drill down into the guidance, you’ll find several guideline groups.
