The support for classic Reuse will end with the 2023.10 release. We've introduced a modernized Reuse feature with an improved UI and more checking capabilities. Learn more about it in our Reuse Quick Start.
Use repositories to manage the content stored for Reuse. To include a Reuse repository in a check, you need to add the Approved Messaging goal to a Target. There, you can select from all Reuse repositories that match the language of the Target. Read more in Approved Messaging.
Create and manage your repositories with Acrolinx Reuse. Reuse repositories store all of the sentences that you identify as reusable. There are a couple of ways that you can create new repositories.
To create a Reuse repository, follow these steps:
-
In the Dashboard, go to Reuse > Repositories Overview.
-
Click NEW.
-
In the dialog box that pops up, enter a unique name and select a language.
-
You can then start to Manually Create and Edit Clusters.
Note
A new repository will initially be empty. To add content, Import a TEXT or TMX File, enter sentences manually, or include sentences harvested by Acrolinx. (You can also create new repositories directly in the importing and adding workflows.)
You can permanently delete repositories that you won't update.
In the Active column on the Repositories page, you’ll see the value "n/a" for repositories that aren’t active in any Targets. You can usually delete repositories with this value unless you plan to update them.
If the repository you want to delete is included in one or more Targets, remove itfrom the Target first.
To delete a Reuse repository, follow these steps:
-
In the Dashboard, go to Reuse > Repositories Overview.
-
Select the repositories that you want to delete.
-
Click Delete. Repositories marked for deletion appear with a strikethrough. Acrolinx removes deleted repositories from the list after you restart the Acrolinx Platform.
You can export a list of clustered sentences to a text file to review offline. After you review the exported file, you might want to create a revised list of representative sentences and import it to a new repository.
To export a Reuse repository, follow these steps:
-
In the Dashboard, go to Reuse > Repositories Overview.
-
Open the Clusters page for the repository that you want to export.
-
Click Export Repository. The Export Reuse Repository dialog box will appear.
-
Select one of the following options from each cluster.
-
Include repository summary - includes the repository summary at the beginning of the file. The repository summary has information about the export creation date and the number and size of the clusters.
-
Include clusters summary - includes a cluster summary above each cluster. The cluster summary includes information about the number of sentences and representatives in each cluster.
-
Include representatives only - exports the representative sentences only.
-

Click OK and right-click the Download link that appears, and click the option Save link as.
