The license and user information in the Dashboard may vary according to how user licenses are configured in your license file. As a typical customer who bought Acrolinx, you'll only need to use named user licenses. However, if you build your own integrations, you might also consider using volume-based licenses.
Your Acrolinx project consultant can help you with the licensing details and is happy to explain the differences.

License Type |
Description |

Integration license |
You can use all integrations validated and signed by Acrolinx. Depending on your license, you may also see one or both of the following parameters. These will appear below the applicable integration in the Integration Licensing section.
|
Named user license |
A named user license is for a fixed number of users. This type of license is intended for a fixed number of dedicated users who all access Acrolinx regularly. Named users consume a user license after they run their first check. From this moment, a named user is considered "active." An Acrolinx administrator can release a named user license from a user, which will make that user "inactive." Named users can always connect to Acrolinx regardless of how many other users are connected. |
Suggestion license |
With this license, you get all AI writing help options. Acrolinx AI writing help includes the following types of generative AI recommendations:
The Suggestion license is based on a set volume of AI suggestions. The pool of suggestions is available to all of your organization's Acrolinx users who have the privilege Use generative AI. This privilege gives access to the AI Assistant and the Get Suggestions option in the Sidebar. Once the set volume of AI Suggestions is used up, you can purchase additional AI suggestions. Otherwise, AI suggestions will no longer be available. |
Trial license |
If you start the Acrolinx Platform without a license installed, you can use it for one hour to do testing. During this time, the platform runs under a trial license. The trial license comes with the checking module enabled, including the ability to check with all integrations and languages. You can only use the admin account, and can only work with one access point. After one hour, you have two options:

Volume-based license |
A volume-based license is based on words checked per month in a specific integration. This type of license is intended for integrations that don’t always register usernames when they communicate with Acrolinx (for example, APIs and custom integrations). However, volume-based licenses can also be applied to standard Acrolinx Integrations. Volume-based licenses don’t limit the number of users. When you use a standard Acrolinx Integration with a volume-based license, you still connect to the Acrolinx with a username and password. But instead of starting a user session, the integration checks with a volume-based licensing mechanism instead. For this reason, volume-based limits override any other limits such as limits on named users. Users can check with an integration that has a volume-based limit even if there are no named user licenses available. |
The Licensed Modules section lists the Acrolinx Platform modules that are enabled in your license. Some modules have extra parameters that control how many users can access a specific feature.
The Checking module has extra parameters that are explained in the following table.

---|---|
Available named user licenses |
The current number of unused named user licenses. |

The maximum number of licensed named users. |
