This is a major release — we're excited to introduce a new way to sign in to Acrolinx, which is safer and less error-prone. To use all the new features, you need to update to the 5.2 server.
There’s a new way you sign in with Acrolinx sidebar integrations. We've improved the process to provide a safer and less error-prone way to access your Acrolinx account. Previously, you entered your username and password directly in the Sidebar. Now, to sign in you first click SIGN IN, which opens a sign-in page in a browser window.
After you've signed in to Acrolinx, you can give the application permission to access. Then you can go back to the Sidebar and start checking your content. If you update to the 5.2 server, you'll see the new Acrolinx sign-in feature, if you're using the Sidebar.

You Can Now Sign out of All Acrolinx Integrations (Requires Version 14.3 or Later Sidebar)
Before, you could only sign out of Acrolinx integrations that used the cloud sidebar. You can now go to the slide-out menu and quickly find the button.
If you’re already familiar with signing out of the Sidebar, you might wonder where the Sign Out button went. We've moved it from the Options tab to the slide-out menu. So, you can find it easily. Keep in mind that if your integration uses SSO (single sign-on) you won't see the Sign Out button in your Sidebar. The New 5.2 Server Requires 14.4 Sidebar
You won't be able to connect to a version 5.2 server if you use an older version of the Sidebar. So, be sure to update to version 14.4, if you update to the new 5.2. server.
Update Your Custom Document Information
We've made updating your custom document information in the Sidebar easier. Your analytics administrator sets custom document information. Acrolinx will prompt you to fill in some information, such as your document type or department, with your first check. Previously, you couldn't view or edit this information after you've submitted it. You'll now be able to view the custom information on the Document tab in the slide-out menu of the Sidebar after your first check. You'll see that Document tab is grayed out before you check and is active afterwards.
We've Improved the Filter Option
Previously, the filter option next to the CHECK button offered fixed list of items. Now, this list varies depending on your check results. Also, the filter button is deactivated before you run a check and only becomes available when cards appear in the Sidebar.
Short Suggestions Are Now Easier to Click
Previously, if Acrolinx provided a suggestion that's just one character in length, it was difficult to position the mouse precisely enough to click on it. Now, there's a bit of a buffer area around these short suggestions to make it easier to click.
Removed the Quick Access to Guidance in the Sidebar Cards
In 14.3.1, you could open the additional information for guidance help by clicking the guidance hint in the card. We've realized that that made it hard to select the issue, since there were so many one-click actions. That's why we've moved the information icon back to sidebar user actions on the top right of the card.
Clicking Issue Text No Longer Ignores Card
In 14.3.1, you could click the issue text to ignore an issue quickly. This wasn't convenient, since it was too easy to ignore an issue accidentally. You can still ignore an issue by selecting the checkmark in the user actions.
