If you do the installation yourself, ask your Acrolinx administrator for the installer file. You might have it already, if you and the Acrolinx administrator are the same person.
To install Acrolinx, follow these steps:
The Sidebar loads in the resource manager on the left side of the XMetaL Author. If you prefer, you can move the Sidebar by drag and drop to the right side of the screen. You can also adjust the pane to show the Sidebar in its fixed dimensions.
You can change the server address in the start page. You get to the start page by signing out. Choose Sign out from the slide-out menu in the Sidebar, enter a different address and sign in again.
If you turn on Track Changes, Acrolinx highlights issues in tracked changes. But Acrolinx ignores content that's tracked for deletion.Although Acrolinx can read content from variables in your documents, variables are read-only by design, because the information is preset. Also Acrolinx doesn't support mixed formatted text. So, if you click on the card of variables or such highlighted text, the card becomes inactive.
Optional: Specify the Address of an Acrolinx Server with an MSI Installer Property
If you use the MSI installer properties to automate the installation of Acrolinx, you can also now specify the address of an Acrolinx server. So, writers don't have to enter this information themselves. To set that Acrolinx server address, use the property ACROLINX_SERVER_ADDRESS.
Specify the address of the Acrolinx Server.
Example:Note: This property works for first-time installations only. The property is ignored during an update and whichever server address currently configured is used.
