Welcome to our Content Cube quick start. Here you'll learn:
In short: Content Cube helps you track the quality of your web content.
Content Cube aligns web analytics data with Acrolinx check results to help you track content quality. Use the insights that you get to tweak your style guides, improve underperforming content, and keep track of results.
To identify checkable text on your website, Acrolinx uses a crawler with the user agent Acrolinx-bot
. All you have to do is provide Acrolinx-bot with the domains and subdomains that you want to crawl. For example, acrolinx.com
and docs.acrolinx.com
. Once you add a domain, Acrolinx-bot automatically crawls all of the content in that domain on a weekly basis. You can run up to 100 individual crawls at a time. Learn more about Acrolinx-bot.
To add new content to your library, do the following:
-
Go to Reporting > Content Cube settings > Web crawling.
-
Click the plus icon Add new domain to open the Web crawler setup.
-
Enter the domain or subdomain that you want to crawl. For example,
docs.acrolinx.com
.Note
Be sure to leave out the protocol. For example,

-
Don't add:

Collections are the building blocks of Content Cube. You'll use them to organize your content and identify opportunities for improvement. You can create as many as 50 collections.
Learn more about collection creation and management in Create, Edit, and Delete Content Collections.
There are two ways to create collections: via the collections homepage or from pages in an existing collection.
To create a new collection, do the following:
-
Go to Reporting > Content Cube > Collections > Create collection.
-
Enter a name for your collection in the Collection name field.
-
Select the domains and subdomains that you'd like to track. Unless you select specific pages within a domain, Acrolinx will include all child pages for the domains and subdomains that you add to your collection.
Note
Don't see the domain that you want to track? Ask your administrator to add it to your content library.
-
Click CREATE COLLECTION. After you create a new collection, it'll show on the Content Cube overview page.
To create a collection from an existing collection, do the following:
Each collection that you create in Content Cube helps you analyze the quality of your web content. You can track your content's latest performance and how it performs over time.
Filter your content to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and track progress across different goals and style guides. Learn more in Filters and Color Coding . If you also want to filter by performance metrics, you have the option to use one of the Available Connectors to import this data.
The content city gives you an interactive look at the current state of your content. You can view your content in 2D or 3D depending on the filters that you select. You can also use your mouse or trackpad to rotate the city and zoom in on a specific area. This makes it easy for you to identify what's working and what isn't.
Tip
Any filters that you select will apply to the content city and to the page cards.
Each square on the content city symbolizes one page. The color of each bar corresponds with the low and high score thresholds that you set for each goal. Learn more about thresholds in the article Goals and Metrics.
If you only filter by goals, you'll see the content city in 2D. Once you add an additional filter criteria, the content city shifts to 3D to help you visualize this new dimension. The height of the bars reflect your content's performance for the selected metric.
To get a quick look at the scores for a page, hover over each square or bar. Click on a bar or square to view quality insights for that specific page. Read more about page cards in the section Review The Pages in Your Collection.
