The Sidebar helps you improve your content. But sometimes, the issues it finds don't have a straightforward solution. To make it easier for you to fix these issues, Acrolinx provides AI-generated suggestions directly in your issue cards.
Notice
Not all guidelines come with AI writing help. If it's an option, you'll find AI writing help in the issue cards. You'll most likely get this help for Clarity, Tone, and Consistency issues.
If AI writing help is available in your Sidebar, you can generate suggestions that align with your style guide directly in an issue card.
To get an AI-generated suggestion, do the following:
-
Open the Sidebar in your preferred authoring environment and click Check.
-
Click through your Sidebar cards. If AI suggestions are available for a guideline, you'll see a GET SUGGESTION button when you open a card.
-
Click GET SUGGESTION to generate a suggestion.
-
Review the generated suggestion. If you like the suggestion click Copy to insert the text manually.
Warning
Text formatting and styling won't be applied to the replacement.
Or decide on one of the following options:
-
Dismiss suggestion - ignore and delete the suggestion.
-
Get another suggestion - click GET ANOTHER SUGGESTION to get another version of the highlighted text.
Tip
The button GET SUGGESTION will read GET ANOTHER SUGGESTION after Acrolinx makes the first suggestion.
-
Acrolinx always suggests sentences or paragraphs that align with your style guide. The suggestions depend on many factors, so you might see different solutions for similar issues. Sometimes, it's best to review a few suggestions to make sure you select the most accurate solution.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
-
Even if Acrolinx only highlights one word in a sentence, it will give a suggestion for the whole sentence.
-
If Acrolinx finds multiple related issues in one sentence, the AI help will rewrite the whole sentence to cover all issues. For example, if the sentence is too complex.
-
If Acrolinx highlights multiple issues in a paragraph, the suggestion will replace the whole paragraph.
