|Acrolinx Server||All versions|
|Microsoft Windows||All Versions|
You try to install the Acrolinx linguistic resources but the installation aborts with a popup dialog informing you that the resources are already installed.
Sometimes the "Add or Remove Programs" function found within each version of Vista or Windows 7 does not entirely remove a resource installation. This can sometimes lead to an issue where you would like to install new resources but the machine will not let you as it thinks resources are still installed. In this case a window will pop up informing you of this.
Resolving the Problem
In a scenario such as this, open the Windows registry editor (Start > Run > enter "regedit" and hit return) and browse to:
(on a 64-bit computer)
(on 32-bit computer)
If there is a "resources" directory available from this location, please ensure you delete it. Now try running your Acrolinx resource installer once again, the installation should now be successful. Please contact support if this is not the case.
