If you install a new version of the server and the installer detects that you have changed files in your installation, the installer displays the following message:
"Acrolinx Server <VERSION> Setup has created backup copies of files from the previous installation [...]" .
- The 32-bit installer displays this message in the front of the installer window and waits for you to confirm this action.
- The 64-bit installer does not display this message in front of the installer window. There is no focus on the message window, and the message window is minimized in the taskbar.
The installer appears to be stuck, but is actually waiting for a user response on the minimized message window.
This behavior is caused by an issue in the software that is used to create the server installer and cannot be influenced by Acrolinx.
Resolving the Problem
Restore the minimized message window and click OK to continue with the installation.
