|Acrolinx Server||3.0 and 3.1|
You might find these files in your server bin directory after upgrading to a 3.0.x or 3.1.x server. These files are backup files of your license database (.ald file), user database (.aud file), and roles database (.ard file). The Acrolinx server automatically creates these files whenever the server shuts down abnormally. For example, these backup files might be created when you terminate the server processes in the task manager.
In server versions 3.0.x and 3.1.x, the server creates these backup files during routine operation of the server, not just during an abnormal shutdown. If your license, user, or roles database becomes corrupted, you can remove the original database file and rename the backup file with the original database name.
For example if "acrolinx.ard" file becomes corrupted, you can remove "acrolinx.ard" and rename "acrolinx.arb" to "acrolinx.ard". You should then be able to start your server successfully.
