On computers with low processor speeds, the plug-in may fail to display a progress window, especially for large documents. If this occurs, do not cancel the check. The CPU may be overworked, so it is attempting to save RAM by not displaying the progress window. If your system is still unresponsive after sufficient time, the document may be too large, or your system may have insufficient RAM. Try checking the document in smaller sections.
