The request validator is a tool which provides automatic feedback on request text and properties that a client sends to an Acrolinx server. You can use the request validator to troubleshoot issues. Basically, the tool is a pumped-up version of the already existing request properties you get when you enable the capture server workload feature.
You access the request validator via an URL in your web browser.
- The request validator can only validate files from the same domain. If you access the request validator for example via "localhost", the URL of the scorecard must also start with "localhost".
To use the request validator, follow these steps:
- Begin to capture the server workload.
- Run one or more checks with the Acrolinx plug-ins.
Open the request validator with the following URL:
For example: http://acrolinx:8031/request-validator/
- Copy and paste the URL of a scorecard into the request validator.
- Click Validate.
Description of the Request Validator
Here's an overview of the output of a validated Scorecard.
|About This Scorecard URL||This section displays general information about the Scorecard and the check that the Scorecard is based on. It also lists the available files for the validated Scorecard.|
|Validation Result of Request Properties||This section displays detailed information about the properties of the check request. For example, you get a list of the client properties, the user properties, the check settings, as well as several other uncategorized properties.|
|Request Text With Context||This section displays the text how it was extracted by the plug-in. You can use the options on the right to interactively examine details of the extracted text. This section is helpful to determine if the text was extracted as expected, i.e. if your extraction settings and/or CSDs were applied correctly.|
