Acrolinx Plug-in for Microsoft Word | All versions |
Symptoms
When using Microsoft Word a warning message that "the document acrocheck4word.dot caused a serious error last time it was opened" is displayed.
Causes
This problem sometimes stems from another Microsoft Word Plug-in. This explanation is particularly likely if you have been using the Acrolinx Microsoft Word Plug-in for some time without any previous issues. New plug-ins from other publishers occasionally interfere with the security settings in Microsoft Word when they are installed. Microsoft Word then prompts you to confirm the integrity of the Acrolinx Plug-in again when it is restarted. The Adobe Acrobat Plug-in (version 7.0.7) in particular often causes this issue.
Resolving the Problem
Avoid future warning messages by selecting the "Always trust macros from this publisher" check box and "Enable macros" on the Microsoft Word security warning.
