The Top-level Directory
|components||Contains software files for dedicated Acrolinx components like the SEO server.|
|data||Contains customized software files that are installed by the guidance package installer and loaded by the language servers for checking.
This directory also contains several files that are used by other components of Acrolinx that are not directly related to checking.
|db||Contains all of the database files for storing terminology and reporting data.|
|server||Contains all of the core components required to run the Acrolinx Server.|
The Data Directory
|<LANG_ID>||Main folder for all language-specific components. For example the "de" folder contains all of the files required for checking German.
|clients||Contains the user properties files. These files contain saved plug-in settings for each user such as segmentation and checking settings.|
|common||Contains template and configuration files for various customizable pages in Acrolinx such as:
|linkchecker||Contains a cache of all links validated by the link checker feature.|
|messages||Contains a record of messages created in the Server Notifications section of the Dashboard.|
|Guidance Settings||Contains predefined CSD files that store segmentation settings for clients that can send XML content to the server for server-side extraction.|
|reuse||Contains reuse repositories and sentence banks for all languages.
|ruleconfiguration||Contains configuration files that define the guidelines that are active in each writing guide. These files contain the changes that are saved on the Guidelines page in the Dashboard.|
|transformation||Contains transformation files that are used for importing terms that are stored in custom XML formats into the Terminology Manager.|
|termsets||Contains a configuration file that contains the changes that are saved on the Term Sets page in the Dashboard.|
|configurations.properties||Configuration file that is used to configure settings that are common to all languages such as the loading order of language servers.|
|localized_categories.properties||Configuration file that is used to set localized names for the categories and list items that appear throughout the Terminology Manager.
Important: This file can only be used when initializing an empty terminology database. The Acrolinx linguistic team normally configures with this file when preparing your guidance package (formerly linguistic resources). Contact your Acrolinx project consultant if you have any questions about configuring this file.
The DB Directory
|reports||Contains the database files for the default Derby database that is used to store reporting data.|
|terminology||Contains the database files for the H2 database that is used to store terminology data.|
|derby.log||Log file for the default Derby reporting database.|
|derby.properties||Configuration file that stores the authentication parameters for the default Derby reporting database.|
The Server Directory
|bin||Contains binaries and files that are essential for the execution of Acrolinx.|
|lib||Contains standard Java and native libraries.|
|logs||Contains log files for all of the main server processes.
|persistence\META-INF\*.xml||Persistence files that define the connection settings for connecting to an external reporting or terminology database such as DB2 or Oracle.|
|www||Contains web components that enable Acrolinx servers and clients to communicate and components for rendering web content.|
|acrolinx.jar||The Acrolinx Server executable file.|
The Bin Directory
|acrolinx.aldb.h2.db (and acrolinx.aldb.lock.db )||The license database.
This database stores all license, user, and roles-related information.
|acrolinx.license||The license file.|
|Cache files that contain cached linguistic analysis information that enables the language servers to run more efficiently.|
|checksum.*.md5||Checksum files that contain information on what files in the installation were changed. This information is used by the uninstall procedure to determine what files to leave in the installation directory.|
|Configuration files for the different server Java processes. There are separate configuration files for the core server, the language server and a configuration file for settings that are common to all language servers.|
|Configuration files for the Java Service Wrapper license. These license configuration files are required for the Java processes to function correctly.|
|wrapper.java.conf||Configuration file that defines which Java version and libraries to use.|
|wrapper.logging.conf||Configuration file that can be used to fine-tune the format and logging behavior of all java processes.|
|acrolinx*.bat||Batch files that are executed to perform specific tasks in Windows such as starting or installing a specific server service.|
|wrapper.exe||The Java process manager.|
|Properties files that define the connection settings for the core server and language servers as well as any specific features or functionality that should be loaded.|
|jdk-logging.properties||Internal Java logging configuration file.|
|*.log4j.xml||Configuration files that you can use to configure the logging behavior of the individual core server and language server log files.|
The WWW Directory
|Contains web service files for the different server web services.|
|css||Contains CSS files that are used to render Dashboard pages and help files.|
|client||Contains a configuration file for a beta feature that can be used to automatically set the checking options in the Acrolinx Plug-in for Adobe FrameMaker based on the metadata found in the document|
|doc||Contains the user documentation as HTML files.|
|graphics||Contains various icons that are used in the start menu and help files.|
|gwt||Contains the core Dashboard components.|
|htmldata||Contains help files broken down by language for all style and grammar guidelines.|
Contains all reports generated by the server during checking, such as:The output folder also contains repositories exported from the reuse module.
|templates||Contains template files that define that layout of the Dashboard pages|
|uploadedImages||Contains images that are uploaded for term entries in the Terminology Manager.|
Contains transformation files and components that are used by reports.
This directory also stores thresholds.xml , the threshold file that defines the checking score and checking status.
