Install
To install the Desktop Checker on Windows, follow these steps:

Download the latest version of the Desktop Checker .msi installer file from your company download area.

Double-click the installer in Windows and follow the on-screen instructions.
Update
To update, you first need to uninstall the previous version of the Desktop Checker. Then, simply follow the installation procedure for the new version as described under "Install."
Uninstall
To uninstall the Desktop Checker, follow the Microsoft Windows procedure for changing and removing programs.
Install
To install the Desktop Checker, follow these steps:

Download the latest version of the Desktop Checker DMG file from your company download area.

Open the Desktop Checker DMG file to start the installation process.

Move the Desktop Checker icon to your Applications folder.

Double-click the icon to start the Desktop Checker for the first time.
Update
To update the Desktop Checker, follow these steps:

Download the latest version of the Desktop Checker DMG file from your company download area.

Before you run the Desktop Checker DMG file, select Menu bar > Acrolinx Desktop Checker > Quit Acrolinx Desktop Checker to make sure that you’ve closed the outdated version.

Open the DMG file to start the installation process.

Move the Desktop Checker icon to your Applications folder.

Click Replace to install the latest version of the Desktop Checker.
Uninstall
To uninstall the desktop Checker, follow these steps:

Quit the Desktop Checker.

Open the Applications folder and move the Desktop Checker icon to your trash.
Depending on your system environment, there are several ways to install, update, and uninstall the Desktop Checker. For example, you can use a package manager if you have one installed, or you can use the command line.
Install
Install the .deb package from the command-line terminal with:
sudo dpkg -i deb_package
On Ubuntu, you can double-click the Debian package (.deb) file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Update
To update, uninstall the previous version of the Desktop Checker. Then, follow the installation procedure for the new version as described under "Install."
Uninstall
To uninstall the Desktop Checker, run:
sudo dpkg -r acrolinxdesktopchecker
Tip
You can also use software management program to uninstall the Desktop Checker if you have one.
