Acrolinx stores terminology, analytics and reporting data in databases. When you install the Acrolinx server, the Terminology Manager, analytics and the reporting database each come with a default database. The default databases are freely distributable but are not optimal for storing high volumes of data in combination with the Acrolinx server. You can connect the Acrolinx server to a database other than the freely distributed database formats which are installed with the Acrolinx server.
Configuring the connection requires knowledge of the operating system in use, TCP/IP networks, client-server systems, and the necessary communication protocols as well as knowledge of XML.
