You can use the Configuration Properties page in the Dashboard to get a quick overview of the files in your configuration directory without logging on to your server computer. This page includes a built-in file browser that you can also use search for files and to preview the contents of properties files.
If you’re not yet familiar with the configuration directory, review the chapter Configuration first.
Users need a role with the privilege View server configuration to access the Configuration Properties page. Because properties files might contain sensitive information, only administrators should get this role.
If you have the role "Super administrator," you can also edit some types of configuration file directly from this page. You'll see an EDIT button when you open one of the following configuration files:
To view and edit your server configuration, follow these steps:
- Navigate to
In the file browser, browse to a sub directory or type the name of a file in the search field.
For example, to review your core server properties file, you could browse to the "bin" directory or type "core" in the search field.
To preview the contents of a properties file, select a file with extension
The preview panel shows the configured and default properties for the properties file. Bold text indicates properties that were added or updated after the server was installed. Plain text indicates default properties that were installed with server. Default properties are loaded from the original version of the properties file in the installation directory. If you have made any changes after the server was started, the displayed properties might differ from the properties that were loaded by the server.
If you're a super administrator, click
to update the file.
Remember that you can only edit properties files for the core server or language servers.
- In the window that appears, make your changes and click SAVE
- Restart the core server to apply your changes.
