You can use the Acrolinx Plug-in for Oxygen to check the content of DITA maps and get an Acrolinx for the entire DITA publication. This feature is especially helpful if your DITA map files reference topics from many different locations and you want to ensure that all relevant files are found and checked.
You check DITA map files by opening the map with resolved topics. In the resolved topics view, all text is read-only except the meta information inside the topicmeta element. Acrolinx still inserts flags into the text but you cannot edit these flags in the resolved topics view. To edit issues in a specific topic, open the individual topic file.
To check a DITA map file, follow these steps:
- Open the DITAMAP file in the DITA Maps Manager.
- Navigate to DITA Maps > Open Map in Editor with resolved topics to open the map in the XML editor with resolved topics.
- Change the checking options if needed.
- Select the Check option from the Acrolinx menu.

You open DITA map files in the DITA Maps Manager, which is part of the Oxygen XML perspective in Eclipse. To open the Oxygen XML perspective, navigate to Window > Open Perspective > Other . In the Open Perspective dialog box, select <oXygen/> XML and click OK .
