Acrolinx for Oxygen XML Web Author Sidebar Edition - Version 1.1 (18 April 2018)
This release welcomes support for newer versions of Oxygen XML Web Author, the latest Sidebar, and Embed Check Data.
Added Support for Version 19.0, 19.1 and 20.0
Great news for Oxygen users! Acrolinx now supports Oxygen XML Web Author versions 19.0, 19.1 and 20.0.
Embed Check Data
Embed Check Data gets promoted to Oxygen XML Web Author with this release! If your Acrolinx administrator enables Embed Check Data, Acrolinx saves details on your content as a processing instruction, at the end of your checked content. That way, you can see the Acrolinx Score, a time stamp, the status, and a link to the Scorecard at a glance. Just another easy way to track your content quality!
Here’s an example of how embedded check data looks for XML documents:
acrolinxCheckData score="82" scorecardUrl=">SERVER_ADDRESS</output/en/gear_pump_xhtml_admin_38616c5a5ff3e6fe_1_report.html" timeStarted="2017-10-10T06:24:03Z" status="green"
Sidebar Now Loads Directly From Core Platform
The Sidebar and the Core Platform have moved in together! This means the Sidebar now loads directly from your Core Platform.
Replace All Occurrences Wasn’t Reliable
Acrolinx was so eager to replace your issues it didn’t know where to start! Previously, if you tried to Replace all occurrences from the Sidebar, some corrections ended up in the wrong place or were skipped entirely. Acrolinx now queues the suggestions and patiently solves them one after the other. What a virtue!
Embed Check Data doesn't work for Internet Explorer
If you use Internet Explorer, Acrolinx can't embed your check data. This is due to a bug in Oxygen XML Web Author 20. Once the bug gets fixed, we'll make sure that an upcoming release lets you embed your check data from whichever browser you like. For the time being, you can use another supported browser like Edge or Chrome to get the Embed Check Data feature with this release.
We've developed and tested this version of Acrolinx for Oxygen XML Web Author with Oxygen XML Web Author versions 19.0, 19.1 and 20.0 .

Major New Features
Brand New Sidebar Edition
We've created a whole new experience for how you can review and edit your content with Acrolinx.
We show you the issues in a sidebar instead of highlighting the issues directly in the text. This means that Acrolinx doesn't interfere with your text and you can review the issues side by side with your content. You'll have quicker access to all the Acrolinx features that you're used to, because our sidebar is always by your side in a very unobtrusive way.
Check out the sidebar release notes to see all the new stuff. Remember that you have to update to the 5.1 server to get the 14.2 sidebar.
Manage Extraction Settings on the Server
If you're used to the Acrolinx classic edition, you'll have configured your extraction settings directly in the plug-in. For all sidebar edition plug-ins, you configure the extraction settings in the Acrolinx Server . Your guidance package includes default Context Segmentation Definition (CSD) and context definition files specific to oXygen XML Web Author. You'll need to update to a new guidance package or get these files from Acrolinx and install them separately.
You'll need to request a new license to get the sidebar edition activated for your server.
We've developed and tested this version of the Acrolinx plug-in with oXygen XML Author version 18.1 .
The plug-in requires the following Acrolinx products:
- Acrolinx server version 5.1 or later
- Acrolinx guidance package version 5.1 or later
- Acrolinx sidebar version 14.2 or later.
