If you do the installation yourself, you'll need the Acrolinx DMG installer file. You might need to ask your Acrolinx administrator if you don't have it already.
To install Acrolinx for Mac, do the following:

Open the Acrolinx DMG file and drag the Acrolinx icon to your Applications folder.

Navigate to System Settings > Security & Privacy. Make sure that you’re in the Privacy tab.

Click Accessibility.

Click the plus icon to add Acrolinx to the list of apps. When the Applications window appears, select Acrolinx and click Open. You’ll now see Acrolinx in the Accessibility apps list. Make sure to check the toggle next to Acrolinx.

Go to your Applications folder and double-click Acrolinx. When Acrolinx opens, you’ll see the Acrolinx icon in the top menu bar.

Before you can use Acrolinx, you'll need to give Acrolinx some permissions. Open a locally saved file in Word, PowerPoint, Sketch, or Outlook. Make sure you're in the active app.

In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click the Acrolinx icon to trigger the permissions popup. Click OK, and follow the instructions in the pop-up window to give Acrolinx the permissions it needs.

Click the Acrolinx icon in the top menu bar of your active workspace, and select the option Show Sidebar to start using Acrolinx.
We regularly release new versions of Acrolinx for Mac. Make sure you grab the latest version to enjoy new features and improvements.

To update Acrolinx for Mac, follow these steps:

Download the latest version of Acrolinx from your company download area.

Before you run the Acrolinx DMG file, click the Acrolinx icon in the menu bar and select Close Acrolinx.

Open the Acrolinx DMG file to start the installation.

Move the Acrolinx icon to your Applications folder.

Click Replace to install the latest version of Acrolinx.
When you uninstall Acrolinx, your checked documents aren't affected. This process uninstalls the Acrolinx application from your computer.
To uninstall Acrolinx for Mac, do the following:

Click the Acrolinx icon in the menu bar and select Close Acrolinx.

Open the Applications folder, and move the Acrolinx icon to the bin.
