Before You Install

Check our Compatibility Guide if you want to know whether Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor works with your local platforms.

Before you install, make sure that you have the following:

Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor is available on your Acrolinx downloads web page. You need a customer account to sign in. If you don't have a customer account, then contact your Acrolinx project consultant.

Install

Here's how to install Acrolinx:

Notice

You need administrator rights on your computer to install Acrolinx for Flare.

  1. In a browser window, open the Acrolinx downloads page and sign in.

  2. Download Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor Sidebar edition.

  3. Double-click the installer in Windows and follow the on-screen instructions.

Update

To update Acrolinx, you need to download and install the new version. You don't need to remove the older version first, just follow the install procedure above.

Plan a MadCap Flare and Contributor Update

Planning to update to the latest version of MadCap Flare and Contributor? You’ll need to uninstall Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor first.

To update, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor.

  2. Update your MadCap Flare and Contributor application to the newest version.

  3. Reinstall Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor.

Uninstall

To remove Acrolinx, close Flare and follow the Microsoft Windows procedure for changing and removing programs.

Warning

If you want to uninstall MadCap Flare and Contributor completely, be sure to uninstall Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor first.
